Brawijaya English Youth Competition and Olympiad 2015

Dear, Everyone 

Here are the prepared motions for BEYOND 2015 :

1.   What is humanity?
a.   Thbt even white lies are not justified;
b.   When faced with a choice between purchasing desirable but non-essential products       (e.g. Starbucks) over spending on alleviating suffering (e.g. donating to charity),           This House would always do the latter
c.   In the context of limited organs, THW prioritize those who have donated their               organs and/or made a commitment to donate as recipients

2.   Does humanity extend to non-humans? 
a.   THW ban all religious and cultural practices that violate the principle of animal             welfare;
b.   In a world where it exists, THBT a romantic relationship with an artificial                       intelligence is just as valid as relationship with humans;
c.   TH, as environmentalists, would only support deep green ecology as a legitimate           way of caring for the environment.

3.   For the welfare of mankind, but what about womankind? (gender inequality)
a.   THBT sexually assertive female pop stars identifying as feminists are harmful for           feminism;
b.   TH, as micro-finance organizations, would exclusively give aid to economic entities       led by women;
c.   THW punish the community in which honor killing is still practiced.

4.   Money actually can buy happiness, but only if you have it? (income inequality)
a.   THBT government intervention in an ineffective solution for income inequality;
b.   THW allow citizens to donate to recognized charities of their own choosing instead         of paying income tax
c.   THBT artists’ income tax should not be paid to government but converted to an             obligation to train new artists until the aggregate total income of all his/her                 trainee artists reach the income tax due

5.   We are all special in our own way, but are we all equal? 
a.   TH, as EU, would aggressively compel Turkey to recognize Armenian genocide.
b.   THBT mechanisms to accept refugees should be subject to popular referendum;
c.   TH, as LGBT movement, opposes closeted LGBTs;

6.   Science and technology
a.   TH welcomes the declining number of religious followers due to rise of science and         technology;
b.   With the benefit of hindsight, THW ban development of technology that strengthens       gender binary (including but not limited to: technologies in gender reassignment           surgery, technologies used in pre-natal gender screening, etc)
c.   THW stop all attempts of finding extraterrestrial life.

7.   Sanctity of life.
a.   THW financially incentivize parents to terminate pregnancy diagnosed with medical       conditions that have significantly low survival rate
b.   Assuming feasibility, THW allow citizens to trade their lifespan for money;
c.   THBT fear of death is irrational
